Standing Committees

 

  • PTA Culture & Recruitment Committee  
    1. Chair: Amy Dempster Fitzpatrick 
    2. Committee Members: Lauren Carroll, seeking 2 more committee members
    3. Responsibilities:
      1. Drafts and edits the PTA registration packet at the start of the year
      2. Manages PTA recruitment efforts at the beginning of the year – i.e. signage during the first week of school, making sure there are tables or signage w/ QR codes at fall on-campus events (i.e. Glow Party) to encourage sign-ups, etc. 
      3. Oversees Memberplanet and the PTA website
      4. Plans quarterly parent meet ups or nights out (can liaise with room parents by grade to arrange)
      5. Speaks about the PTA at Back-to-School night and Kinder/TK events on campus  
  • Staff Support & Hospitality Committee 
    1. Chair: Adriana Sanchez 
    2. Committee Members: Sandra Donahue, seeking 3 more committee members
    3. Responsibilities:
      1. Coordinates hospitality luncheons throughout the year including Teacher Appreciation Week activities
      2. Oversees teacher gifting at the beginning of the year and the teacher start up fund
      3. Collects funds for Mr. Ryan’s birthday gift in October and the holiday fund for Andy/Sandra/Mr. Ryan in December
      4. Safety drill support, safety shed management, and classroom lockdown kit management 
      5. HSA awards  
  • Field Trip Committee 
    1. Chair: Kristina Inman + Ben Hsu
    2. Committee Members: seeking 1 more
    3. Responsibilities:
      1. Streamline the process by creating a Field trip questionnaire that room parents or grade level reps for the Field Trip Committee will send to teachers at the beginning of the year with preferred dates, number of students, teachers and chaperones, preferred locations, and any special requirements for students 
      2. Room parents/grade level reps will share information back with the committee who will book the buses and trips.  
      3. Processes can be further streamlined by creating a booking checklist for the committee with preferred bus vendors, key contacts, and questions to ask venues i.e. parking info, bag policy, etc. 
  • Social Advocacy Committee 
    1. Chair: Karen Chan & Sydney Steinkhol
    2. Committee Members: seeking 2 more members
    3. Responsibilities:
      1. Ribbon Weeks 
      2. Mock elections
      3. Coordinates with the district and the PV Council of PTAs about legislative affairs and the capitol convoy
      4. Food Drives and other cultural celebrations dreamed up by their team
      5. Works closely with the Social Events Committee on World Festival 
  • Social Events Committee 
    1. Chair: Brooke Schmidt 
    2. Committee Members: Lacey Mathis, Christine Ahn, Adriana Asnon, seeking 2 more members
    3. Responsibilities:
      1. Procuring popsicles and passing them out after the first day of school
      1. Getting coffee & food donations or providing from budget and setting up the morning of
      2. Decorating the MPR
      3. Winter Wonderland & Kids Marketplace
      1. Back to School Park Playdate
      2. 1st Day of School Popsicle Party 
      3. Glow Party 
      4. Halloween Parade
      5. Chalking the blacktop and helping Mr. Ryan set up the arch
      6. Veteran’s Day Breakfast
      7. World Festival

 

  • Educational Events & Assemblies Committee 
      1. Karen Chan & Sydney Steinkhol (assemblies only) 
      2. Committee Members: Youmee Cha Kim & Clay Lee (Book fair and Reflections), seeking 2 more members
      3. Responsibilities:
        1. Plans and executes the book fair(s) 
        2. Plans and executes the science fair 
        3. Books 3-4 assemblies including the Science Fair assembly and liaises with Ms. Dunbabin on timing and preferred assemblies
           
  • Fundraising Committee  
    1. Chair: Carol Teich 
    2. Committee Members: Megan Crum, Britney Chesworth, seeking 3 more members
    3. Responsibilities:
      1. Plan and execute annual gala and auction (fall)
      2. Plan and execute Fun Run (spring)
      3. Coordinate dine outs and other passive fundraisers throughout the year (i.e. Fund Photos)
      4. Serve as PEF liaison – work closely with PEF chair at the district level and share back PEF fundraising priorities with the school  
  • Communications & Marketing Committee 
    1. Chair: Elyse Rausch 
    2. Committee Members: Jen Chokemesil, seeking 2 more members
    3. Responsibilities:
      1. Oversees adding events and programs to Membership Toolkit so families can sign up for volunteer opportunities throughout the year
      2. Manages Instagram 
      3. Creates hard copies of flyers and distributes them to teacher cubbies
      4. Manages e-newsletter creation and distribution; provides information to Ms. Dunbabin for the weekly Principal email 
      5. Manages two buzz boards on campus and updates monthly
